Today, we are very excited to announce a strategic investment from Coinbase Ventures.
At Privy, we believe that many users’ first experience of crypto will be through novel, engaging app experiences built on crypto rails.
Over the past 18 months, we have worked closely with multiple product teams across Coinbase supporting some of the best teams in the market as they've transformed the crypto landscape. Together, we help developers build better products onchain. This means helping developers build on Base, fund their users’ accounts, set up Coinbase Smart Wallets, leverage Magic Spend and more! With this investment, we’re excited to deepen our partnership.
Our work with Coinbase began with the first Onchain Summer a year ago when the first apps leveraging Privy and Base launched. That summer saw the first consumer breakouts with apps like Friend.Tech and Blackbird going live and the first hints of what scale might look like building on crypto rails. Looking back, it’s incredible how far our space has come with hundreds of apps now built on this new stack, and this is just the beginning.
We are excited to continue to work closely with Coinbase to make it easier than ever for developers to really build for users, not just wallets. This is how we bring crypto mainstream.
